Service Guidelines

  • All accepted items must fit inside the container with the lid able to close. 
  • Liquids such as paints, fertilizers, chemical, mercury, automotive fluids, etc. are not allowed in the container. 
  • Electronics, batteries and light bulbs should be properly recycled. 
  • Tires are not allowed in the container. 
    • Please take them to a local tire shop.
  • Moving? Notify us if your business is closing or moving out of Garland at least 30 days in advance.  
  • Park vehicles at least 10 ft. away from all sides of the container. 
  • On your collection day, unlock the gate to the container and ensure the container is accessible to driver. 
  • Property owners are responsible for insuring that the area around a container is kept clean.
    • Sanitation vehicle operators are not responsible for cleaning-up items left on the ground.
  • Any waste hauler operating within the City limits must have a franchise agreement in place with the City before doing business in Garland, per ordinance. If not using City of Garland Sanitation services, be certain to verify with your waste hauler that they have an active agreement in place. 
  • The minimum empty and reset for open top roll-off containers is one time each month.
